Omri Abas
Acoustic engineer and independent researcher in acoustics and pure mathematics.
Omri Abas is an acoustic engineer working in environmental, architectural and legal acoustics in Israel since 2012. Since 2017 he has been a member of the expert committee for the engineering specification of the Government Housing and Construction Administration (Israel Ministry of Finance), and he wrote its acoustics chapter, issued in 2018 and updated in 2025 and 2026. He serves as a court-appointed acoustic expert and lectures on acoustics. His research examines the mathematical and metrological foundations of the methods used to measure and assess environmental noise in international standards and in national regulations, and, in pure mathematics, convex geometry and spectral theory. He holds an M.Sc. in Acoustics and Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Construction from the University of Coimbra.
